Over 60 real ales and 20 ciders from around the country served at our main Dereham Bar and at our smaller bars at Thuxton & Kimberley Park.

Fares
The Mid-Norfolk Railways annual fundraising beer festival has been a must attend event since 2012, we are pleased to announce it will be returning for the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2025. We are bringing in real ales and ciders and from around the country, as well as local breweries. Click here for the 2025 Beer & Cider List

Bars & Train Services
A mixture of Steam, Diesel and Pacer trains will operating throughout all four days and late evening trains on Friday and Saturday. Trains marked Loco will be Steam or Diesel hauled, and other trains will be using our Pacer. or Railcar services.

All our bars operate a Challenge 25 policy. We may ask you for ID at any time and we reserve the right to refuse the sale of alcohol. The MNR will not tolerate abuse of any kind to our staff or volunteers.

BARS
The main bar at Dereham will be open Friday - Monday 11am - 11pm (6pm close Monday).
There will also be a smaller bar at Thuxton Station and one at Kimberley Park Station which will be open during hours trains are running (CARD ONLY).
How it works:
Like many other similar events, drink sales will be by token. All bars will accept tokens, including on train bars.
You can purchase a set of Beer Tokens. This is by far the cheapest way to buy your drinks over the weekend. Present your tokens and cup at any bar to exchange Beer or Cider.

Our normal day rover fares apply (£19.95 Adult)
5 Tokens (half pint each) cost £12.
Starter Pack including Pint Cup costs £15 each
Combined Day Rover & Starter Packs cost £29.95.
Summer Pass tickets are valid at this event.
Live Music
FRIDAY 22nd August - BLUE HARLEQUIN will be playing from 7pm until 10pm on our atmospheric platform. You can expect some fantastic guitar driven classic rock and blues numbers, sure to get people dancing!

SATURDAY 23rd August - THE DIVIDERS are entertaining the crowd between 1.30pm and 4.30pm, with their eclectic mix of rock, pop and indie covers generally from the 1970s onwards. Then later in the evening, FORGED are returning after a successful & very well received stint at the 2024 Beer festival! Sing and dance along to some old school rock classics, Hendrix and some heavy-duty blues, as well as the odd original song thrown in for good measure!

Tickets can be bought online in advance or at either Dereham Ticket office or Wymondham Abbey station, if you are boarding at either Yaxham, Thuxton or Kimberley Park tickets can be bought on the train.

**Please note that the Mid-Norfolk Railway do operate a Challenge 25 policy and reserves the right to ask for Photo Identification/proof of date of birth. The Mid-Norfolk Railway also reserves the right to not serve alcohol to anyone it believes is below 18 years old, no refund will be made in this case. The Mid-Norfolk Railway will not tolerate any abuse or violence towards its staff members at any time.
