Maroon Timetable
March - September 2026

Step back in time and enjoy the charm of traditional rail travel on our Maroon Timetable days.

Travel in comfort aboard our beautifully restored heritage carriages from the 1950s and 60s, as well as later 1980s stock, hauled by one of our dedicated locomotives – steam or diesel, depending on the day.

The full 22-mile round trip offers a scenic journey through the heart of Norfolk, linking the historic Anglo-Saxon town of Dereham with the attractive market town of Wymondham. At Wymondham, you can step off to explore the magnificent Wymondham Abbey, just a five-minute walk from the station, along with a variety of independent shops, cafés, and local attractions.

Enhance your visit with one of our great-value Rover Tickets, giving you unlimited travel and the freedom to hop on and off all day. Whether you’re planning a leisurely return trip or a full day of exploring our stations and the surrounding towns, rover tickets let you enjoy the railway at your own pace.
