You never know what wildlife you might discover along the way!
The Mid-Norfolk Railway’s 18 miles of route, together with County School represents over
eighty acres of Norfolk’s countryside. The railway estate acts as a largely undisturbed
green corridor, linking fragmented wildlife habitats and helping to capture carbon through
its trees.
The Mid-Norfolk Railway forms part of a thriving landscape that supports a diverse
array of wildlife.
Visitors may spot a variety of birds, butterflies and other native species from the train at
our stations or public spaces along the line, making the railway an ideal destination for
birdwatchers, photographers and anyone with an interest in the natural world. Keep your
eyes open as you travel—you never know what wildlife you might discover along the way!
The railway has a dedicated nature conservation team which supports biodiversity by
protecting and maintaining existing habitats, creating new ones, and enabling local plants
and wildlife to thrive.

If you have recorded an interesting wildlife
sighting on the railway estate, or are interested in contributing to our nature conservation efforts, please get in touch with the Mid-Norfolk Railway Conservation Group.
