Step aboard for an unforgettable evening of suspense, laughter, and mystery with Murderous Nights Out at The Mid-Norfolk Railway! This one-of-a-kind experience invites you to immerse yourself in the world of intrigue as our vintage carriages set the stage for a thrilling murder mystery performance.
Your evening begins at Dereham Station, where the atmosphere is set with a warm welcome and the chance to enjoy a pre-journey drink. At 6:30 pm sharp, the train departs, and the story begins to unfold. As you travel through the picturesque Norfolk countryside on two scenic round trips between Dereham and Thuxton, you’ll find yourself drawn into a tale filled with secrets, suspects, and red herrings at every turn.
While you and your fellow passengers work together to uncover the culprit before time runs out, you’ll be treated to a local sourced meal. Choose from:

Drinks are available to purchase both before and during the experience at Dereham Station, ensuring your glass is never empty as you puzzle through the evening’s twists and turns. Please note that there is no on train bar available for this event.
With ever-changing themes throughout the year, each Murderous Night event offers a brand-new adventure – whether you’re a returning guest or a first-time detective, no two mysteries are the same. The tension builds as the clues come together, until, at last, the culprit is revealed back at Dereham by 9:00 pm. And for the sharpest sleuths on board, a prize awaits the team that cracks the case!

A 1920s THEMED MURDER MYSTERY 'Flappers Flapping, Moonshine Shining - and Murder!' It is 1927. Booze is illegal and gangsters rule the underworld... but if you know the right people, anything can be bought... for the right price! Giallo 'Big Bird' Gallo, the mysterious boss of the biggest gang in the county, is running an illegal speakeasy and gambling den on board the 'fish train' - the long freighter that supposedly feeds the fish markets in the city.
Will its reputation for smelling terrible keep the cops away? Will Big Bird stay alive? Hop on! Grab a 'fruit juice' and try to unmask the cuckoo in the illegal nest!

AN 'ALLO 'ALLO THEMED MURDER MYSTERY 'Hiss and Herr's Mysterious Murder Sausage (or 'Snakes on a Train') ' On the train to Germany, Herr Flick of the Gestapo has lost his 'Bavarian Death Worm' sausage! Rene Artois has been summoned to assist, and has been mysteriously requested to bring plenty of his 'most stinky sausage' with him.
Also on the train, Officer Crabtree and Michelle from the resistance are attempting to smuggle a British Airman into Germany on a top-secret mission, not realising that Herr Flick is now on the same train!
Will everyone survive the night, or will it be a sausage too far for one of our heroes? Find out, and try to unmask the killer, in: 'Allo Allo' - Hiss & Herr's Mysterious Murder Sausage'!

A 1960s THEMED MURDER MYSTERY 'The Magical Mystery Tour of Murder' It is 1967, the summer of love, and people everywhere are turning to new experimental sounds, eastern musical influences, illegal, mind-expanding narcotics, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
In the heat of all this trippy peace and love, one band is on tour and struggling to make it big - but 'Zeuses Electric Deuces' believe they have discovered blues-legend Robert Johnson's fabled 'lost song' - written down in a dusty notebook they found in a disused recording studio, somewhere in rural Trunch. Since making that monumental discovery, the band have been trying to decipher the scrawled notes and recreate this legendary blues track without success - and are starting to believe the book, the song, and now they themselves, are cursed!
Will all the band survive? Who will transcend? Join us to help unmask the uncool killer!

A SHERLOCK HOLMES THEMED MURDER MYSTERY: 'A Study of Uncertain Blood Lines' Following the mysterious death of a cycling postman, renowned detective, Sherlock Holmes is now on the train, heading to Norfolk to investigate.
Lord Buxton, an old friend of Holmes' has been trying to consult the great detective about a 'small inheritance problem', but oddly enough, his messages haven't been getting through, so he has now joined the train, intending to intercept Holmes, concerned that someone might be trying to keep Holmes from investigating!
Sons, solicitors, eccentric aunts, and a very odd fortune teller all have an interest in Lord Buxton's will, but whose will, will ultimately prevail?

Please note that there is no on train bar available for this event. The evening features two scenic round trips between Dereham and Thuxton Stations, packed with mystery and excitement!
